I love how you deleted the bottom bit of my post which said the said the same as everyone else is saying. As for the bit you quoted - it was meant light hearidtly (hence the floppies) so please don't asume my post was a personal attack.

OK, I know it's bad to feed trolls but FGS, what a cheek you have to give Janet a talking down to for being rude, when you have been nothing but offensive to a lot of people. Plus I don't think it's for you to say to tell an admin to be ignoring posts.

Hmmm yes, 800Mb would fit nicely on a floppy

 

If only it were that easy. I can't be bothered to fully go into what we've been through in the last few days but it was long, complicated and very tiring. Especially as we didn't have access to the entirety of the server and had to use work-arounds. And I don't know what would have happened if Sal and I didn't have specialised computing knowledge of the working of webservers, databases, SQL etc etc as the hosts didn't have a clue. Having a non-corrupted backup was only one piece in the puzzle

As Sal said last night - most of the time they're fine, it's just when they mess up they do it in style. That's part of the reason why we moved the summaries archive to a separate host - so it could be independent.
