adlerj Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Thanks mate. It's showing as right for me....are your timezone / daylight savings settings correct in your profile? I think so. I'm not sure. I'm not really bothered that much, but it could get a little bit confusing for me. Quote
Management Hawker Posted September 17, 2009 Author Management Report Posted September 17, 2009 I can't edit it for you without forcing your account, but you need to go to: http://www.neighboursfans.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=usercp The first bit is your privacy settings and then it says Time Zone. Choose the correct one from the drop down menu and then check the DST Correction box just beneath it. Save changes, and then it should update properly... Quote
iank Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 (Tennant voice) New forum. That's weird. Quote
adlerj Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) Thanks Sal. It worked. Just two more things I want to ask. What happened to the spoiler tags and the quotes from the top of the pages? Nothing I will miss drastically, but again, just curious. Edited September 17, 2009 by adlerj Quote
Management Hawker Posted September 17, 2009 Author Management Report Posted September 17, 2009 Great stuff; glad it's sorted. Ian - I think we're getting close to our regeneration limit now, too. Quote
Management Hawker Posted September 17, 2009 Author Management Report Posted September 17, 2009 What happened to the spoiler tags and the quotes from the top of the pages? Nothing I will miss drastically, but again, just curious. Sorry, you posted as I did. Are there no spoiler tags? Er, smeg...will check that out. Quotes need to be rebuilt so they'll be missing for a good while yet. They will make a return though. Quote
Management Hawker Posted September 17, 2009 Author Management Report Posted September 17, 2009 You can get a spoiler tag in one of two ways: 1) Manually typing out the tags - e.g. [ spoiler ] (without the spaces) and then [ / spoiler ] to close. Like so. 2) Click on the drop down entitled 'Other Styles' (it's at the top left of the posting box). The fourth option is 'Spoiler'. Click on it, and then type your text in the pop-up box. When you press 'Add' your spoiler will be added to the post. There's also a SPOILER option at the very foot of 'Other Styles' but that's a scroll over tag, which isn't as good. Hope that helps. Quote
Swanny Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 No worries, thanks for bringing it to my attention (and to Andrew for his correct input too ). Invision ships as default with a mobile skin forced onto the iPhone, Touch, Blackberry etc and turning it off had totally slipped my mind! Could the option to use the iPhone skin at least be available? Or maybe it could be default for iPhone Safari users but just have that "Manually choose a theme" link available? It's just handy when you're on the move and therefore have no access to a Wi-fi network so having to resort to your phone data network, which is pricey alone! (iPod touch users have wi-fi only hence why using the desktop version is no problem). Quote
Management Hawker Posted September 18, 2009 Author Management Report Posted September 18, 2009 I'll take a look at it tomorrow. It should all be enabled for use (just not forced), but I'm a bit at a loss of how to test it without the technology myself if it's not already working. I would investigate it but I'm just too tired now...I've hit a wall, I think! Quote
perfectlybeautiful Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Hey, nice work there Sal The site looks brilliant! But just one question - is it just me or has some threads disappeared in the Fun&Games section? There is only a few threads in that section and only one page....so I don't really get it. Where have the other threads gone? TIA Quote
Mrs Clog Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Belinda - we had a little bit of a cull lately to try and bring the size of the forum down for the upgrade, so a lot of threads which hadn't been used in a little while (or ones where it wasn't necessary to keep them) went. Quote
perfectlybeautiful Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Oh, ok thanks Chloe Quote
meeker Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Looks fab Sal, must have been a helluva job but one that was worth it... Quote
Llama8668 Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 I'll take a look at it tomorrow. If you want me to test it out on my iPod just give me a shout . Quote
AshleySolo Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 This may be a stupid question, but how do you change your avatar and edit stuff in your profile now? That was all under the My Controls section, which I can't see anymore. Quote
Llama8668 Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 In the top right corner where your username is there is a drop-down menu if you click on it. Select my profile and within that is a button (again top right I think) to edit your profile and you can find those options in there. Quote
AshleySolo Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 (edited) I saw the links for avatars and time and fixed my time that way because it was an hour fast. It corrected itself simply by saving it again. But thanks for letting me know about the little thing in the top right hand corner. I wouldn't have spotted it otherwise. AshleySolo Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 (edited) Is anybody else having time issues? I checked my profile and the time I've selected is correct. However, the time seems to be correct one minute and other times it's an hour fast. It switches between the two. I've tried selecting the correct time again and saving, so I'll see if that stops the switching back and forth. Nope. That didn't work. It's back to an hour fast again. In the pull down list, it's listing the Melbourne/Sydney time as an hour faster than it should be. Thought I would just let you know. Edited September 18, 2009 by AshleySolo Quote
Dino Hoyland Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Very VERY well done to you all, the update looks fab. I do have a feeling that I may get lost, and as such, please ignore any plaintive whimpers as I find my way around. Conrgratulations on all of the time, effort and creativity you have all put into this. 10/10 and A+ and all that. C Quote
