Shona Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Great idea, Sal and love what I've seen of the new site so far. Not loving the idea of copying and pasting all my fics from the board so much though - had no idea I'd written 16 fics on here and only four of them are standalones - but I've been meaning to save them for a while so it's a great incentive. There have been so many great fics on this board over the years so it'll be fab to have them in the one place where it's much easier to search and keep track of them . Quote
Jonathan Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 Such an amazing idea, I think I'm already addicted. So nice to be able to click "Toadie Rebecchi" and read all the stories with him in. The new site is really nicely set up. This is gonna be fun! Quote
Dino Hoyland Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Just another quick technical question - I can see how you can add the different era's that your story comes from, but I'm having a problem adding more than one character. I clicked on all of the ones in my story, but only one charactercame up when I posted it. I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious, but can someone just give me a heads up as to where I'm going wrong? Thanks C Quote
LauraFace Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 What I did was press CTRL with each click of a different character. It's like choosing specific documents to open on your hard drive, you click on the ones you want by pressing CTRL at the same time instead of highlighting them when they're all next to each other. Kaleigh Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Great idea, Sal! Have signed up and started archiving; it's a really well set up site. Am cursing the 30-part fics I wrote though! I imagine a few others will be experiencing the same though, so I'm not alone! Quote
Liljana Is Still Alive Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 I'm probably not going to be able to archive the rest of my stories until I get back on the 1st September. Just giving you a heads-up here. Quote
Management Hawker Posted August 22, 2009 Author Management Report Posted August 22, 2009 Jack, could you save your stories to your harddrive for me, please? I'm not 100% when I'm going to do the upgrade (I'm still waiting on a few things) but if those things resolve and I get the opportunity, I'd like to plough ahead. Quote

I'm posting from other people's computers, as and when I can. Quote
Swanny Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 You could always save them to a webmail account or something, because at least you wouldn't be saving to the computer itself and you can easily access them anywhere then. Quote
Management Hawker Posted August 22, 2009 Author Management Report Posted August 22, 2009 Yeah - I'm not trying to be awkward, Jack and I'm not saying that I will upgrade the board before the 1st of September (as I don't know how things will pan out yet), but if the opportunity arises for me to do so I'm not going to turn it down. Perhaps you could ask someone else to save them for you? Quote

I'll list the ones I've not yet saved here, and see if there's anyone who can save them for me: Finished: Skeletons In My Closet: http://www.neighboursfans.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=212 Eternal Flame: http://www.neighboursfans.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=279 Unfinished Business: http://www.neighboursfans.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2106 Unfinished, but open to being "taken over": 24 Little Hours: http://www.neighboursfans.com/forum/index....showtopic=17707 Quote
Jonathan Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Anyone else having trouble logging into the fic archive? My password didn't work, so I did the "lost password" thing, and that new password didn't work either. Is it just me? Quote
Management Hawker Posted August 30, 2009 Author Management Report Posted August 30, 2009 That's a bit odd. Could you try a new retrieve for me and see if it works now? Quote
Jonathan Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 That's a bit odd. Could you try a new retrieve for me and see if it works now? Thanks Sal, it seems to be sorted now! Back to reading fics! Quote
Management Hawker Posted August 31, 2009 Author Management Report Posted August 31, 2009 Goodo - glad it's sorted! Quote
ShadowDan Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 (edited) Hey Sal, this is a great idea. Lucky for me I've backed up my stories on my external hdd when I first created them. . Just registered , but will begin to upload one of my recent ones shortly. How long does it take to get validated? Cheers... Edited September 6, 2009 by ShadowDan Quote
