Board outage now resolved

Hiya guys,

 

I'm ever so sorry about the outage today. It happened whilst I was at work and I didn't have any opportunity to come online and fix the problem until now.

 

Fortunately it was relatively easy to fix, but oi, whoever posted last, you broke the database!

 

But yes, everything should be tickety boo again now.

This is a most unsatisfactory situation. Nobody was prepared for the board outage; some people may even have been forced to do some work.

Thanks Sal. I was thinking that it was being upgraded actually but was then confused as to why there was nothing on NEpisodes as you said there would be lol.

I was thinking that too Laura, for a while there but then realised that Sal said she would post an announcement, with the date of the upgrade, on the forum, before she changed it all over.

Yeah, you'll definitely be made aware in advance when I'm planning to do the upgrade, and I'll put something on Neighbours Episodes too - so you were right to go over there and check it.

Haha, yeah! I had to resort to doing chem homework! But like a few others, I looked on N.eps to see if you posted anything. I assumed it was upgrade time. =]

I swear the same problem occurred not that long ago either (actually it might have happened on another forum Media Spy), so yeah I definitely knew it wasn't the upgrade.

Haha, afraid not. I actually think it was a search (more likely several searches all conducted at the same time) that collapsed it, looking at which areas of the board died - as they're quite resource intensive.

Sorry guys, I was unaware we were struggling.

 

We have internally moved server (so with our host but from one server to another) so that might have caused the outage.
